Forklift and pedestrian safety training
Forklift and pedestrian safety training is an important part of ensuring the safe coexistence of forklift operations and pedestrians in warehouses, factories and other places. The training content has different focuses for forklift drivers and pedestrians, but the common goal is to improve safety awareness and reduce accident risks.
Training on countermeasures for forklift drivers when encountering pedestrians
1. Slow down and stay alert
The first principle: No matter when and where, as long as pedestrians appear within the field of vision, forklift drivers should immediately slow down and give pedestrians enough attention and respect.
Continuous observation: During driving, constantly scan the surrounding environment, especially the activity area of pedestrians, to ensure a clear understanding of the dynamics of pedestrians.
2. Actively avoid and reserve space
Avoidance principle: When pedestrians are found to be likely to enter the forklift's driving route, the forklift driver should actively avoid them and provide safe passage space for pedestrians.
Space reservation: Ensure that there is enough space when turning, reversing or passing through densely populated areas of pedestrians to prevent accidents.
3. Use warning equipment
Whistle warning: When approaching pedestrians or in areas with poor visibility, forklift drivers should use the horn function in a timely manner to remind pedestrians of the presence of forklifts.
Use of lights: Reasonably use the forklift's turn signal, brake light and other light signals to convey the forklift's driving intention and status to pedestrians.
4. Stop and wait to confirm safety
Stop when necessary: If pedestrians cannot avoid in time or the forklift driver cannot ensure safe passage, the forklift driver should stop and wait immediately until the pedestrians completely leave the dangerous area.
Continue after confirming safety: Only after confirming that the surrounding environment is safe and pedestrians have left the forklift's route can the forklift continue to be operated.
Pedestrian training content
1. Safety awareness education
Understand the risks of forklifts: Understand the operating characteristics of forklifts in the warehouse and the risks they may bring, and improve self-protection awareness.
Comply with safety regulations: Emphasize compliance with warehouse safety regulations, do not stay or walk in the forklift operation area, and do not cross the forklift's route at will.
2. Walking regulations
Use safe passages: Use designated safe passages when walking to avoid walking on the forklift's route at will.
Observe the surrounding environment: Stay alert while walking and pay attention to the surrounding environment, especially the dynamics of mobile equipment such as forklifts.
3. Emergency response
Avoidance principle: Learn how to avoid forklifts correctly to ensure your own safety.
Emergency response: Understand how to respond quickly in an emergency, such as how to call the police, ask for help or save yourself when a forklift loses control or pedestrians are injured.
