What is a forklift hydraulic system and what does it do?
The forklift hydraulic system is an important part of the
forklift. The working device accessories and steering system of the forklift are all driven by the hydraulic system. Therefore, the quality of the forklift hydraulic system directly affects the performance of the forklift. The simplest forklift hydraulic system is generally composed of a power source (forklift engine, forklift motor), a gear pump, a high-pressure oil pipe, a multi-way valve, a lifting hydraulic cylinder, a steering hydraulic cylinder and some other forklift control valves.
The working principle is that the forklift engine (forklift motor) drives the hydraulic gear pump to continuously generate high-pressure oil; the forklift hydraulic oil is sucked out of the oil tank and enters the multi-way valve through the oil pipe. According to different working conditions, the operating handle (control multi-way valve) can be pulled to realize the lifting, lowering, forward tilting, backward tilting, steering wheel steering and other actions of the forklift.
The hydraulic system of the forklift consists of five parts: 1. Hydraulic pump; 2. Throttle valve; 3. Lifting hydraulic cylinder; 4. Tilt hydraulic cylinder; 5. Hydraulic distribution valve.
1. Hydraulic pump, which can be a vane pump or a gear pump. The hydraulic pump outputs high-pressure oil to drive the lifting hydraulic cylinder and the tilting hydraulic cylinder.
2. The throttle valve is installed in the pipeline of the lifting hydraulic cylinder. Its function is to increase the flow resistance of the oil. When the lifting hydraulic cylinder is depressurized, the fork is ensured to descend slowly.
3. The lifting hydraulic cylinder, the top of which is fastened to the lifting gantry, controls the lifting or lowering of the fork.
4. The top of which is hinged to the gantry, controls the forward or backward tilt of the gantry.
5. The hydraulic distribution valve is composed of a valve body, a lifting hydraulic cylinder valve core, a tilting hydraulic cylinder valve core and a safety valve. Its function is to control the action of the lifting or tilting hydraulic cylinder valve core through the operating handle according to the working needs of the lifting and tilting of the fork, and input high-pressure oil into the lifting or tilting hydraulic cylinder. The function of the safety valve is to allow the oil to flow back to the oil tank from the return pipe when the oil pressure in the system exceeds a certain value.
